PlayStation 5 Price And Release Date

SONY has not yet confirmed the PS5 price, but analyst predictions have placed the PS5 price in the region of 499$ ( £449 / AU$749). It's only $100 more than the price of the PS4 and PS4 Pro. Some analysts are predicting that the console will come in at around $599.

Sony has finally announced that PS5 will release worldwide "in time for Holiday 2020", hope so in between October and December 2020. Some rumors said that PS5 will release in mid of November.

Besides the price for the standard version of PS5, Sony's reveal event on 11 June 2020, has shown us that there will be two PS5 variants at launch: one is the standard PS5 version and the second one is PS5 Digital Edition. Hope this will come in a lower price tag, but we're not sure about it.

PS5 Custom Processor & GPU

Sony is using AMD's Zen 2 CPU processor technology with 8 cores and 16 threads. It was revealed during the March event that the PS5 will deliver around 3.5GHz frequencies, it means that the PS5 will be running 8x Zen 2 Cores at 3.5GHz over the PS4's 8x Jaguar Cores at 1.6GHz. This will be a big boost in performance for PS5.

Looking towards the GPU PS5 is using AMD RDNA 2 architecture customized GPU. It has 36 compute units capped at 2.23GHz with a performance peak of 10.28TF was stated during the Sony's event.

Due to backward compatibility, you can play the top 100 PS4 games on PS5 with full compatibility as like the Xbox Series X.

Sony's New PS5 SSD

Sony PlayStation 5 is making the gaming experience for their users smoother and faster with their custom SSD. The built-in internal storage of the custom SSD will be 825GB which is less than you will get in Xbox Series X.

Sony is using SSDs not only to load data faster but it also boosts the gaming capabilities and performance, also SSDs have more bandwidth so it can load data fastly. For expandable storage, Sony seems to be allowing for off-the-shelf NVMe PC drives.

Now you can play PS4 games on the PS5 without any issue if saved to a regular Hard Drive PS4. When asked about the PlayStation 5’s speed compared to its current-gen console at a corporate strategy meeting, Sony claimed, when it was asked about speed difference between PS5 and  PS4 console, he said that PS5 will “revolutionize the game experience for users” in it's official Sony document.
